West Midlands Trains: Ticket Retailing Proposals – Update

Earlier this year, West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway, alongside other train operators, launched a public consultation regarding proposed changes to how tickets are sold at stations. The proposals were designed to respond to the changing buying habits of our customers by making frontline colleagues more accessible to passengers.

Throughout the consultation period WMR and LNR engaged closely with the passenger watchdogs Transport Focus and London TravelWatch and directly with our passengers and stakeholders, including disability groups. We also revised our proposals in response to feedback from our customers and the passenger watchdogs.

Following today’s publication of feedback from Transport Focus and London TravelWatch for the majority of operators following the public consultation, we can confirm the consultation process has now concluded and we will not be progressing with any of the proposed reforms.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our stakeholders who took part in the public consultation for taking the time to share your views and provide feedback.
